DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF TOURISM

The government body responsible for the administration, development and promotion of tourism in Oman is the Ministry of Commerce & Industry represented by the Directorate General of Tourism (DGT). The function of the Directorate General of Tourism relates to the administration and development of national tourism policies, including the preparation, implementation and monitoring of tourism strategy.
The structure of the DGT based at the Ministry of Commerce & industry in Muscat is as shown below:

In addition to the above there is a tourism representative in various regional offices of the ministry and these are in the Sur, ibra, Sohar, Al Buraimi, Musandam, Ibri, Al Rustaq, Nizwa regions and a tourism department in the Directorate General for Commerce & industry in the Dhofar region. Outside Oman, the Undersecretary of Tourism is responsible for the Oman Commercial Office in Dubai.
