FOREIGN  TRADE  STATISTICS

For the year 2000

Analysis of trade balance for the year 2000 shows:

  ·        the value of imports in the year 2000 reached 1937.7 million R.O. compared with 1797.1 million R.O.in 1999; registering an increase of 140.6 million R.O. or what is equivalent to 7.8 % annual increase.

  ·        the value of total exports in the year 2000 reached 746.4 million R.O. compared to 656.8 million R.O.in 1999; registering an increase of 89.6 million R.O. or what is equivalent to 13.6 % annual increase.*

  ·        the value of exports of Omani-origin  in the year 2000 reached 247.8 million R.O. compared to 201.4 million R.O.in 1999; registering an increase of 46.4 million R.O. or what is equivalent to 23 % annual increase.*

  ·        the value of re-exports in the year 2000 reached 455.3 million R.O. compared to 498.6 million R.O. in 1999; registering an increase of 43.3 million R.O. or what is equivalent to 9.5 % annual increase.

*excludes exports of oil
