RESEARCH & STUDIES DEPARTMENT

This Ministry has, over years, shouldered the task of conducting many studies and researches in different sectors with a view to updating and developing the Ministry's performance by adopting scientific procedures. The Directorate General for Planning and Follow-up, represented by the Department of Research and Studies, has been working hard to make such research and studies available to interested person both within and outside the Ministry by:

- Taking stock of and arranging the researches and studies already conducted by the Ministry; a reference list, which will be fed with continuously with the titles of new studies, has been prepared and the Directorate will circulate it to interested parties in and outside the Ministry after completing its storage electronically.

- Including the recommendations of the studies, now under way, in the framework of the future five-year plans of the different sectors of the Ministry after accurate scientific evaluation of the issues addressed by such studies.

- Extracting and abridging the innovative ideas brought up in the studies dealing with the activities of the Ministry's sectors.

- Following up the transformation of such studies into plans and programme and providing the necessary budget therefore.

- Participating in evaluating such studies in cooperation and coordination with the agencies concerned.

The Directorate is considering, at the moment, the creation of a scientific classification for its collection of studies in order to programme it in a special computerized system which will make it easy for researchers to access whatever they want, and complete the information management process at the Ministry.
