QUARRY PERMIT

These Permits are granted mainly to meet raw material requirement for construction activities and are for a short duration i.e. for a few days to one year but renewable on yearly basis.

Application

In prescribed form with fee and the area plans applied for along with the Technical experience and Financial availability.

Area

- Building Minerals (Solid Rock) 10,000 Sq. M.

- Sand and Gravel (In Wadis) 40,000 Sq.M

- Minerals and other building Minerals 100,000 Sq.M.

- Larger areas can be granted depending upon the applicants requirements.

Duration

One year renewable

Permit Holder

To commence work within 3 Months

Fee etc. Payable

- Application Fee RO 25.000,

- Quarry Permit Fee RO 50.000 and the

- Bank Guarantee

Responsibility of the Permit Holder

- Submit a monthly report each month regarding its production and operational activities.

- Submit a Bank Guarantee prior to the Grant of the Quarry permit.

- Pay Royalty on material sold or consumed

Responsibility of the Quarry Permit Holder

- To prospect for and to mine or quarry such mineral/minerals as may be specified in the permit

- To erect permanent housing building structures, machinery and other works necessary for mining and quarrying

- With prior approval of the DGM, can engage in underground mining

- May apply for mining lease in substitution of quarry permit if the operations have progressed and expanded sufficiently

- To make all necessary excavations on the land surface.

- To stack, impound or otherwise dispose off any of the products mined.
